Tehran — Iran’s central military command has issued a strong response to the ultimatum delivered by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and a proposed peace agreement.
General Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters dismissed the threat, describing it as a sign of weakness rather than strength.
He criticized Trump’s remarks as “powerless, nervous, unbalanced, and foolish,” signaling heightened tensions between the two sides.
Sharp Warning from Iran
Aliabadi also addressed the religious tone used in Trump’s message, warning that such rhetoric could have serious consequences.
“The simple meaning of this message is that the gates of hell will be opened for you,” he said.
The statement underscores the escalating confrontation between Iran and the United States, particularly over control and access to the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
Trump’s 48-Hour Ultimatum
Earlier, Donald Trump issued a 48-hour ultimatum demanding Iran reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face severe consequences.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump reiterated his warning.
“Remember when I gave Iran ten days to make a deal or open the Strait of Hormuz. Time is almost up,” he wrote.
He further warned that “all hell will break loose” if Iran failed to comply.
Trump also threatened to target critical infrastructure, including Iran’s power plants, if his demands were not met within the deadline.
Delay in Military Action
Despite the strong rhetoric, Trump later indicated a shift in tone, claiming that “very good and productive” discussions had taken place with Iranian authorities.
As a result, he postponed potential military action for five days, signaling a temporary de-escalation.
However, the deadline was extended again, with the latest cutoff set for Monday evening local time.
Rising Tensions in a Strategic Region
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical النفط transit routes, making any disruption a major concern for global energy markets.
The exchange of threats between Iran and the United States highlights growing instability in the region, raising fears of broader conflict with significant global economic implications.
